We are living in a progressive world, advancing towards an age of genius: a hi-tech society that is moving at an extreme pace towards a “better” world. The pace at which the world is progressing in every field, I cannot even imagine the level of advancement for the next generations! Humanity is making itself proud! On the flip side, there is a downside to this fast paced life; excessive competitiveness, anxiety, stress- to always keep running this marathon. There are physical as well as emotional repercussions to perpetual anxiety and stress. The worst part to this is that children and teens get affected too. Consequentially, stress and anxiety can cause havoc for these young and developing minds,
This is where Yoga comes in. Yoga can be explained as training of the mind and breath combined with some beneficial body postures that helps a person feel more aware of themselves. The concept of Yoga is, “if we breathe slowly in a relaxed manner we will slow our heart rate; if we focus the mind we will develop mental peace and deep insight.” (Web)
I would like to introduce, Kelly Luszcz, a yoga expert who teaches yoga to toddlers Big Power Yoga and adults at Art Montage Yoga, Katy. Kelly has 200 hour RYT from Larry Thraen through Bodhin Yoga School. A mom of two lovely children, Kelly understands the challenges of parenthood. She believes in the holistic way to life.
Kelly loves kids and apprehends that yoga is a tool that she can pass on to them to initiate their course into a happy and secure life. Her inspiration behind teaching children is, “ to help the next generation handle their life and situations a little better!”
Kelly believes that life always throws curve balls at us when we least expect it; the best we can do is prepare our children, our next generation to be able to positively deal with such unexpected, unknown challenges. Explaining yoga, Kelly alludes to the fact that, “Yoga is more than just a posture.” It is a way of life. It is a positive way to release negativity from the body by releasing it through breath. I hope there are more people out there who like Kelly Luscz believe in working towards empowering our next generation, positive values that can be implemented in real life without harmful side effects.
